About sounding
What this is
sounding is a research prototype. It is built to test whether the diagnostic logic of the Afro-Rhythming framework can be made useful to ordinary people facing situations that feel stuck, repeating, or unclear.
It is not a finished product. It is not therapy, coaching, or advice. It returns a structural reflection, one question, and a held tension — and then stops. The stopping is intentional.
The framework behind it
Afro-Rhythming is the living coordination intelligence in African and Afro-diasporic rhythmic practice. The Afro-Rhythming framework is its translation into working tools for systems that are failing to hold together.
When something feels stuck, the usual response is to add — more information, more advice, more next steps. The Afro-Rhythming framework works the other way. It is built on the observation that what you leave out shapes a system as much as what you put in. The constraint is what you design. What happens inside that space is up to you.
sounding works the same way. It does not tell you what to do with your situation. It reflects the structure underneath it, asks one question, names one tension — and stops. That stopping is not a gap in the product. It is the whole point. The gap is where your own thinking moves.

This is a research tool
sounding is in active testing. Every situation you bring is visible to the creator and is used to evaluate how well the framework's diagnostic logic is working across different life areas and different kinds of situations.
You are welcome to test out the demonstration situations, make up your own, or enter a real concern.
A more advanced version of this tool — private, with full data control — is in development. sounding is the proof of concept that builds the case for it.
Who made this
sounding was built by Philip Ross as a proof of concept for the Afro-Rhythming framework.
